Systematic Review of Interventions for Domestic Elderly Cognitive Health Management : Proposal for Forms of Occupational Therapy Services

Abstract
Purpose: This research concentrated on domestic studies of cognitive function improvements or preservations of eldery and the occupational therapy as the health management service not only the rehabilitative medical intervention.
Research Method: The present study executed the systematic review through the narrative synthesis. The theme of research was searched through the database of the Korean Studies Information Service System(KISS), the National Assembly Library and the National Library of Korea. Through a selective process, 24 researches were selected as the subjects for the final analysis. Key words were ``elderly`` and ``cognition.``

Research Results: The studies for the investigation were the experimental results gained through actual mediation for the total number of subjects to be 1,015 people and amongst them, 6 research results were excluded for not indicating the gender for a total of 799 people. Amongst the 799 people, the male gender occupied 17.6% with 141 people and the females occupied 82.4% with 658 people.

Conclusion: The results reported to make significant effects on the cognitive functions were mainly physical activities to prove the effects placed on the cognitive functions with the physical activities. However, for inducing more active and efficient participation and results to the subjects benefiting from the occupational therapy services, it is required to expand and establish the occupational therapy field of Korea by developing and providing the multilateral programs.
